Effects Suggestion: Saving custom styles easily

hi all,
this is for the suggestions section, but I prefer to first post it here just to get some feedback.
About the styles, It seems very curious to me that you cannot save a custom style in the same area where you find the preset styles.
I know you can save and load effects but it would be muuuch easier to just have a button to save the current effects as a custom style of your own (image 1)
and when you open the styles tab, you could have two tabs: 1 for lumion presets and 1 for custom presets (image 2)
In my mind, that would be much more streamlined. What do you guys think?

Hi Aris, it's probably no surprise to hear that this has been suggested before but the developers have not yet had time to implement it.

When you send your submission to the developers via the Lumion product feedback form, it should serve as a reminder that this would be a useful addition to Lumion.

I agree with Aris!

And since I'm new here, just to ask the staff - do we discuss possible new features and enhancements to Lumion, here on the forum or exclusively through that 'feedback form'? I would have a lot to suggest! :D

Hi Slobodan E

Please provide your suggestions via our Lumion product feedback form. Otherwise, our developers won't read them.

Hi Peter, I hadn't realized why I don't like to use the 'feedback form' but coming to think about it, I believe it is because it is a quite 'cold' way of communication. I've been a member of forums for many years and for many 3d applications and usually, there is a section devoted to suggestions which is open and most of the time users elaborate and discuss them. That way, ideas evolve in a more 'democratic' way.
On the other hand, in Lumion's forum, you have to fill a very restrictive and formal questionnaire, and after that you have no feedback, like throwing a stone to a deep well.

I would suggest devoting a section of the forum to suggestions/ ideas, like Slobodan said, so that users can exchange ideas and be inspired by one another.

I hope I'm not misunderstood, my criticism is well intended and only meant to contribute to this forum's evolution and through that, to Lumion's evolution.

I again agree with Aris! :)

Since I'm also new here, I thought there would be an 'entire world' of commenting, discussing the features and their further possible development. I like the 'feedback form' as well, and I hope it's not a 'stone thrown in a well' as Aris said, but I would definitely dedicate some forum threads to that - further improvement of the program, its features, libraries etc.

Thanks for your feedback.

You're very welcome to discuss things like that with other users here at the forum but as mentioned earlier, the developers don't read the forum posts.

So, if you want to influence future versions of Lumion, please use the Lumion feedback form so that your suggestions are included in the regular reports for the developers. The latest report that was forwarded to the developers resulted in some new features being pencilled in for Lumion 11.0 so I can assure you that suggestions aren't treated like "a stone in a deep well".

Note also that we occasionally contact those of you who submit suggestions to discuss them with you in more detail but that's done via email.

Thanks for the info, Morten!

At this moment, only couple of months before supposed release of v.11, I would wait and see what it will bring. So far, many of the things I thought could be improved, in the end really were - like displacement maps, hq vegetation, even swapping photos in the photo mode (finally!), so let's wait for november and see, and then I would have some comments, I'm sure :)
