Hi

Some of you have reported issues with the new drivers from NVIDIA. We can confirm the same - messed up interface in Lumion. This is not solely a Lumion problem but is occurring with some other 3d software.

To Resolve:
Until NVIDIA provide an update fix or we can investigate and provide a solution ourselves, then we recommend one of the following options:

A. If you have not yet installed the driver for 522.25 (or Studio Driver 522.30):
1. Then do not install (if you can avoid it happening   ).
2. Or turn off NVIDIA GeForce Experience until such time to avoid auto-updating (you still get the option to cancel before installing).

B. If you have installed 522.25 (or Studio Driver 522.30):
1.
Install the most recent prior version 517.48. The install should uninstall 522.25 for you. Preference is to use the Game Ready driver although the Studio Driver will also work with Lumion fine.

Get the driver from:
Or use the other official NVIDIA driver site with this link:

2. If you have a Windows Restore Point that includes an earlier driver, chose to Restore. Note: it's best that the prior driver still be recent, no reverting back to drivers that are more than 6 months ago. Doing so might be a lot slower than the NVIDIA driver option in 1.

C: For either option:
1.
Create a Windows Restore Point so it's easy to go back.

D: Affects Lumion versions:
Version 11.0 and newer.

Hoping it does not affect too many of you.

Make sure the driver stays on that version until such time as there is an update or fix for this driver issue. We will update this post once we have more news, but have no idea when that might take place, so please check back from time to time.

Using the Driver OK?
If you are using the 522.25 driver and Lumion is working OK for you then we would be interested to hear from you so that we can try and identify the differences in settings or hardware. Contact us here, and thanks in advance for doing so:

Update on the issue:
Nvidia communicated a workaround at the following link for Cyberpunk:
Edit: more recently from NVIDIA for Lumion:

We can confirm that this also works for Lumion. Nvidia will be pushing this update in the upcoming days. However, if you want to try the manual fix for the new driver, it's only a 3-minute workaround.

Important: this only applies to users with the Game Ready Driver 522.25

1. Download the GeForce 3D Profile Manager
2. Open the app and select 'Export SLI Profiles':

3. Save the .TXT file on your Desktop as NVIDIA Profiles.txt and open it
4. Find 'Lumion' in the list and add the following line above the 'End Profile' line:
Setting ID_0x00c36e12 = 0x00000000

5. Save the .TXT file
6. Return to the 3D Profile Manager and select 'Import SLI Profiles'

7. Select the file you just saved (NVIDIA Profiles.txt) from the Desktop

8. Close the app and reboot your PC.

If this fix does not work as expected then we highly recommend to:
  • revert to the previous driver version as per the original advice
  • wait for Nvidia to push the fix in the upcoming days and reinstall the driver.

Hi Rok Kozin,

Sorry to hear that. In this situation, it's probably best to inquire with Nvidia directly. They confirmed the workaround posted a while ago, but I am not sure why it would not work for a 4090. We're currently in the process of acquiring one ourselves, but it will take a bit of time. Their response may be quicker.
