Ever needed to transfer to a different Project the Objects for a specific Layer and it included different Object Categories?
The current Merge feature works on Object Categories along with the Photos and Clips etc.
There is no feature like a 'Merge by Layer'. Here's a possible way to do it.
1. In the Project, hide all other Layers, then select the Objects and Delete them.
2. Then use SaveAs (Important it is SaveAs and not Save) to make a temporary Project file only of the Objects in that Layer.
3. Then you can use Merge and all Objects you wanted from that Layer will be copied to the Project you want to Merge to. The Objects will be in the same Layer as in the merged from Project.
OK, it's not as simple as some sort of single step Merge by Layer, but perhaps the steps are something you might find useful when needed.
